Dear Friends and Family,
Once again it is the time of year for our annual HAND Foundation
Fundraiser. This year marks our 5th year helping children with Autism.
It is such a joy as parents to be able to come together to help each
other’s special children. This would not be possible without the help of
our friends and family. We love you all very much and are very grateful
for your help. Each little bit helps.
Bethany is such an
inspiration to us as a family. She is very happy most of the time and we
thank God for that. She is initiating and using the toilet on her own
pretty frequently. Sign language has been such a huge help to us as a
family. Bethany is able to request exactly what she wants and that
decreases her frustration. Watching “ZOOM” , swimming, music, riding her
bike and eating are her favorite activities, not necessarily in that
order.
Bethany’s teachers are some of the most amazing people we have met. We
have been able to get additional training through the Verbal Behavior
Network and apply many of their principles side by side with our
Son-Rise training. All of this training has been costly and could not
have happened without the HAND Foundation.
We hope all of you are doing well and wish you a happy and healthy 2005.
